MARINA DI CARRARA – A first aid point for residents and tourists coinciding with the arrival of summer and the possibility – even for those on holiday – to carry out specialist visits and medical checks. The Marina Public Assistance clinics are preparing for the greater influx of presence in our territory with extended hours: the clinic in via Nazario Sauro 68 – starting from this weekend – will remain active every day including Sundays, with continuous hours from 8am :00 to 20:00.
A doctor and a nurse will always be present inside the structure to guarantee patients essential services, possibly even at home: basic medical visits, dressing samples, stitches, injections, catheter changes.
“It’s a way to meet the needs of the population – explains Dr. Rigoletta Vincenti – medical director of the facility – it makes it easier for patients by providing immediate responses”.
It will be possible to contact the Public Assistance clinics for small problems: a sudden illness, an injury or a simple check-up, just show up at the center where a doctor and a nurse will give the necessary answers.
At the facility there is a clinic for minor surgery, able to intervene for minor traumas, such as a splinter stuck in a finger or a cut that requires a few stitches.
Anyone who has blood pressure or blood sugar problems can ask for a quick check up: all the necessary machinery for measuring vital parameters is available within the medical center. The professionals who provide the first aid service are doctors known in the city and highly appreciated: Giuseppe Paita, Pierluigi Manfredini, Giorgio Perutelli, Tullio Sarteschi.
Specialist doctors also work at the headquarters in via Nazario Sauro – by appointment: in addition to the pulmonologist Rigoletta Vincenti, the cardiologist Walter Serra, the endocrinologist and andrologist Bruno Bianchi, the sonographers Maurizio Dumo and Roberta Russo, the thoracic surgeon Gianfranco Menconi, the the orthopedist Angelo Fascetti, the dermatologist Mario Simoncini, the geriatrician Elio Mencarini, the urologist Simone Belli, the occupational doctor Francesco Caiti, the anesthetist Claudio Falchi, the ENT specialist Valentina Rossi, the nutritionist Roberta Tartarini, the psychologist Sara Barbera .
The center also has a medical-sports clinic for first and second level visits carried out by doctors Pietro Teneggi and Mattia Parenza.
All services are provided privately for a fee, “but the rates – recalls the president of the association Fabrizio Giromella – are limited and the proceeds up to a 40% share remain with the Public Assistance which, being a non-profit organisation, reinvests in community services.”
