Molfetta: Corrado Azzollini receives the 2024 Troisi Award: «Unique emotion»

This year too, the “Troisi Award” arrives in Salina, a splendid location in the Aeolian Islands, paying homage to the great actor 30 years after his death and awarding numerous prizes to exponents of cinema and music.

Among the winners of the 2024 edition there was also the Molfetta film producer Corrado Azzollini who received the coveted recognition with the following motivation: “For the passion, dedication and professionalism expressed over many years as a film producer and author dedicated to social issues, integration of peoples and cultures, overcoming barriers and divisions, with attention to the realities and stories of Africa and the South of the world; for his commitment as president of Italy of Confartigianato Cinema e Audiovisivo; for the strong sense of belonging to independent cinema and the constant sensitivity demonstrated also with the reopening of the historic Azzurro Scipioni cinema in Rome”.

«For me this is an award that is worth double, not only for its importance in itself but also because – explains Corrado – it is rarely awarded to a producer. We are a fairly unsupported category in the world of cinema, especially in this phase in which the Italian product is little esteemed or criticized a priori and we get in the way despite the great daily work done to keep an industry going that has so much to offer ».

«We have come from months in which a denigrating policy was made towards Italian cinema – he added – but only because there is no awareness of the difficulties of this sector, especially due to some decisions regarding ministerial funding. I am happy that my great commitment has been recognized both for specific cases such as the “Azzurro Scipioni” cinema and for my political commitment in the sector with Confartigianato Cineaudiovisivo”.
