The Caserta entrepreneur Mario Russo has been appointed president of a company that will however remain the property of the fans, who have always been shareholders. Lots of enthusiasm and curiosity. Excited from the first minutes, Mario Russo first listened to the words of Goffredo Juchic and the honorary president Francesco Ghirelli then took the floor to explain his feelings. «I have known this reality for some time, I don’t deny it. I still have some championship days imprinted in my mind in which the L’Aquila team confirmed their attachment to the team. I can say that it was love at first sight, but I could never imagine arriving here and finding a wonderful welcome that today leads me to occupy the most important position at a corporate level. Let’s say that my journey begins in the best possible way, hoping to repay the trust of many friends with a journey full of satisfactions on a sporting level.”
Mario Russo also talks about the market. «Now is the time to get serious, but, obviously, without getting caught up in the rush that has always been a bad advisor. Today two valuable managers such as Salvatore Di Giovanni and Simone Perotti greeted us and I thank them for having had their pleasant acquaintance and correct dialogue. Football, like life, is made up of evidently different visions, but esteem and respect still remain. They helped this team grow and, as CEO Juchic said, the doors of this stadium will always remain open for them and for those who have done good for L’Aquila.”
For the new president there is a desire to start on the right foot. Maybe with a market hit. «Now is the time to formalize some confirmations related to the overs, but, at the same time, we look carefully at the evolution of the market. There are particular timings and we don’t want to make mistakes in the choices which will naturally have to be approved by the coach.” Russo has no doubts about the empty box left by Perotti: «The sporting director is an important figure, but, even in this case, more figures will be examined to try to identify the best one possible.
