Trebisacce (Cosenza) – End of filming for Don Quixote, Fabio Segatori’s film with Alessio Boni in the role of Cervantes’ hero. Produced by Paola Columba, for Baby Films, it was made with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Calabria film commission Foundation and the Lucana film commission. “The places where I shot the film, the castles of Oriolo, Roseto Capo Spulico and Rocca Imperiale, Palazzo Pignatelli, San Lorenzo Bellizzi, the beaches and the mysterious and uncontaminated views – underlined the director Fabio Segatori in the final press conference in Trebisacce – were the backdrop to this moral fable. Cervantes’ Don Quixote is part of our imagination and I tell it as a crossing of Mediterranean landscapes, with the breath and sounds of a Southern Mediterranean”.

A beautiful gift”. “The film – explains the Calabria film commission – was shot in the Upper Ionian area of Cosenza for four weeks, in a spectacular and mysterious area, among gullies, medieval castles, rivers and pristine beaches, in the municipalities of Trebisacce, Rocca Imperiale, Oriolo Calabro , Roseto Capo Spulico and San Lorenzo Bellizzi. I work with a quality cast, with Alessio Boni who played the role of Don Quixote, Fiorenzo Mattu (Sancho Panza), Angela Molina (Governante), Marcello Fonte (Garzone), Galatea Ranzi. (Mother Duchess) and Carlo De Ruggieri (Cure)”.
