On Monday 17 June at 3.30 pm, a fundamental meeting of the Regional Government Council will be held at Palazzo d’Orleans. Among the highlights on the agenda, the probable appointment of the current health commissioners as general directors stands out.
The session also includes the approval of the new contract scheme for healthcare managers and the confirmation of the roles of administrative and healthcare director until the definitive appointment of the new holders. Almost certainly, all the current extraordinary commissioners will assume the role of general directors, with the only uncertainty regarding the ASP of Catania. Here, Giuseppe Laganga Senzio, involved in the Nemo Sud investigations, could be temporarily replaced by an interim.
The Council will also discuss numerous other topics, including the Pr Fesr 2024/2027 implementation planning document and the regional collective agreement for non-managerial staff for the three-year period 2019/2021. The call from the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) for contributions to initiatives of local authorities and civil society organizations will be evaluated, with the participation of the regional Department of Extra-regional Affairs.
Furthermore, the agreement for the cataloging of historic parks and gardens, the restoration of the Regional Committee for social welfare services, and the reconstitution of the Council of the Archaeological Park of the Valley of the Temples of Agrigento will be addressed. Among other points, there is also the assignment of the role of general manager of the regional Department of Water and Waste.
The topics under discussion also include the executive project for the Montestretto tunnel, the extraordinary maintenance of the Piazzetta Beato Giuseppe Puglisi in Palermo, the new extra-urban public transport services, and the ownership of assets for the Messina provincial health authority. There will be no shortage of topics such as the needs plan for the national forestry strategy, support for SMEs for international markets within the Pr Fesr 2021-2027, the Horizon Europe-starfisch 2023 mission, and the recognition of off-balance sheet debts.
Finally, governor Renato Schifani will present the report on the Region’s performance in 2023, illustrating the results achieved to citizens and stakeholders and verifying the achievement of the objectives set for the year.
