Virgilio: “With three lists I work for a positive collaboration for the city”

The centre-left candidate Andrea Virgilio today ends a week of meetings with the political forces excluded from the ballot, to evaluate the possibilities of alliances which in this case should be made official by tomorrow morning.

As the candidate explains, “I met the mayoral candidates Maria Vittoria Ceraso, Ferruccio Giovetti and Paola Tacchini in recent days, and I also asked Angelo Frigoli of Alternativa Comunista for a discussion. The reasons start from the need for a comparison on the respective programs for vevaluate possible points of convergence, common sensitivities and future collaborations on issues considered fundamental by all, but also to respect the Cremonese electorate who in the first round of these local elections chose to support not me, but their visions and proposals.

“With Maria Vittoria Ceraso several common elements emerged, in particular the possibility of collaboration on the matches concerning the young people, childhood and adolescent policies and services to support families. A complex area, which also draws my attention a lot, considering the challenges of a city like ours which must open up to the new generations through an increasingly adequate public offering and through decisive investments in the education sector. Cremona will become in the coming years increasingly a university city: the objective – also shared by the ‘Today for Tomorrow’ list – will be to build a truly student-friendly city, not only with a richer educational offer but also through spaces, projects and services that can accompany the path of new generations. Furthermore, in giving attention to young people, we cannot ignore a greater investment in collaboration with speakers and other educational institutions that exist in the city.

With Ferruccio Giovetti the agreement was above all on the issues of security, deeply felt by people, and on the resources to invest in terms of new technologies and personnel to guard the territory giving the right value to our local police, the work of the officers and their role within the community. Also at the center of the convergence is the trade, the intention to allocate additional resources to shops and artisan workshops and the possibility of intercepting new tenders through the Urban Commercial District, in support of the local economy.

The meeting with Paola Tacchini and with his delegation of candidates, instead, he concentrated above all on environmental challenges and ecological transition. In the awareness that on some points there are elements of diversity, as far as I’m concerned there is every commitment to open a constructive and truly participatory discussion on the match of the energy and renewable energy communities. We both underlined the importance of a discussion table with the environmentalist realities of the territory on these great challenges that Cremona must want to face with conviction. We also appreciated the their careful and constructive opposition approachalways in favor of dialogue on the challenges that also affect our city”, says Virgilio.

“In light of a coalition that will have to increasingly open up to democratic confrontation with the various political and civic forces of the city – concludes Virgilio – we are ready to collaborate with everyone and to open an administrative season based on dialogue with these realities coherently integrating the program with which we applied”.
