Scouts in Prato, 2000 cubs and ladybugs

The Agesci Toscana regional event continues with over 2000 cubs and ladybugs (children between 8 and 12 years old) present in the city for the conclusion of the activities carried out in the groups of the region during the year. With an enormous organizational and logistical effort by the Agesci leaders and the institutions, always very available and attentive, the children were hosted in the school and diocesan structures of the area to experience a moment of joy and fun together, but also to lay the foundations for being increasingly aware of how important it is to help others and put ourselves at the service of others. It is no coincidence that the event was called “Leave your footprint”, precisely to underline the importance that each of us, starting from the little ones, can make our contribution to changing the world and the community in which we live. During the year the children had the opportunity to get to know many Third Sector associations that have been working for the common good in their territories for years and, in these days of meetings in Prato, they had the opportunity to broaden their experience with many other realities who made themselves available to prepare play and in-depth workshops for the Tuscan cubs and ladybugs. Large and small associations in the regional territory, with which to build a first outline of a network to work together and leave a positive imprint in our cities. The conclusion of the three days in Prato will be held on the morning of Sunday 16 June in Piazza del Duomo, where the Bishop of Prato, Monsignor Giovanni Nerbini, will celebrate mass for all the participants at 11 am, at the conclusion of a journey which involved playing and sing many children from all over Tuscany, with the hope, or rather, the certainty that each of them will bring home a small seed that will bear fruit in the near future and that will give the possibility of leaving a tangible sign for change. During the morning the Municipality authorities will also be present in the square who will bring their greetings to the participating children and leaders and who will be welcomed with open arms by a festive multitude of blue shirts and red and green caps.
