Not even the Giovetti list, “Security and common sense for Cremona”, after that of Maria Vittoria Ceraso and the coalition of Paola Tacchini, will direct its votes to one of the two contenders remaining in the field for the role of mayor of the city of Cremona. With a message spread on Facebook, the geriatric doctor who coagulated the dissent to the choice of Portesani as mayor of the centre-right, clarifies his position regarding the connections. And he does it with the literary style that is characteristic of him.
“Put on our leggings and accompany Cremona to a freshly plowed and properly fertilized field by the farmer on duty or, simply, put on the best face of a bad situation and hope to put the last years of a less than happy Administration behind us?”, is the incipit. “I assure you, dear friends, that the choice was not easy. The reasons why, both in this and in the past electoral race, we decided to go it alone are not a mystery to anyone: to remove the city from the hands of CSX (and, perhaps, not only theirs), and at the same time do not lend yourself to a CDX candidate who does not meet the favor and approval of that entire group because, unfortunately, understanding the mistakes of the past and not repeating them is not an easy thing.
Likewise right from the start we didn’t want to lend ourselves to partnerships with overly pretentious princesses for our ideals.
But let’s not stop to look at the past, our beautiful Cremona needs to look to the future.
Looking to the future, given the election results we made ourselves available to anyone who wanted to meet us.”
Giovetti does not mention names or surnames, but lets ears trained in politics understand who the references are addressed to: “Someone showed up at our door and, perhaps, it was who we least expected. They were pleasant meetings, characterized by cordiality and mutual and absolute respect. Programs, meeting points and even disagreements were discussed, but always with a proactive and constructive intent.
Somebody else he continued along the path he chose throughout the electoral campaign. This new Leader is probably too full of himself to realize that the golden palace he aspires to is actually a hellish place we are certain that, in the event of victory, he will be a worthy guardian surrounded by his friends.
Our civic sense towards the city we love and at whose service we were ready to put ourselves, requires us to make the most just and correct choice towards all our voters and, above all, the citizens, therefore, our path, to this electoral round stops here.
To all of you, dear friends, our heartfelt thanks ‘ab imo pectore’ with the invitation not to desert the ballot box, but to express your preference, or your dissent, with knowledge of the facts, civic sense and, above all, with the necessary clarity that leads you to go beyond, if you deem it appropriate, the boundaries of your favorite colours, from the perspective of what could be the best choice for our wonderful, but mistreated, “Cinderella”: Cremona.
What we have left of this adventure are the confirmations of old friendships and the discovery of new ones.
At the moment we don’t know if our paths will divide or if there will be other projects that we will carry out together, time, which is always a lord, will tell us.
To conclude, a warm greeting to all the people we met in these two unforgettable months, a dutiful thank you to those who supported us with their vote and good luck to the two main players in the next ballot”.
