Colpi di scena, the international biennial of new theatrical productions for children and young people organized by Accademia Perduta/Romagna Teatri, with the artistic direction of Claudio Casadio and Ruggero Sintoni, and ATER Fondazione, in collaboration with the Municipal Administration. Four shows are scheduled, from 3.30 pm onwards, on stage in various theater spaces in the city, from San Luigi to Testori, from ExATR to Diego Fabbri.

The first appointment of the day is at 3.30pm at the Teatro San Luigi with IL SEGRETO DI BARBABLÙ by the Teatro Perdavvero company. A show, produced by Accademia Perduta/Romagna Teatri, based on the famous story by Perrault, whose protagonist is Bluebeard, a very rich gentleman who lives in a fantastic castle and who would like to marry one of the countess’ daughters. To convince one of the girls, Bluebeard invites them to a beautiful party and Giovanna, her youngest, decides to marry him. She will discover that, behind her husband’s appearances and kindness, a terrible monster is hiding. A story about courage, fear and overcoming it.

At 5pm at the Testori Theater the Rasoterra Circo company presents BOA A LIFE-SAVING SHOW directed by Juliette Hulot. You can chase happiness all your life without ever reaching it and, perhaps, it is just around the corner. How do you find the balance between being content with what you have and pursuing your dreams? Between vicissitudes of the body and acrobatics of the mind, Boa is a journey in search of moments of happiness, in a delicate and engaging reflection on the importance of capturing the sensations of the “here and now”.

The program continues at the ExATR where, at 6.30 pm, the “National Premiere” of HANSEL AND GRETEL, FATELLI UNICI presented by Arte e Salute Ragazzi / La Baracca Testoni Ragazzi will be staged. There is a moment, as a child, when you want a sister or brother that you don’t have, or you want one different from the one you have. Is being sisters and brothers really a fairy tale? Sisters and brothers are not chosen… But they can get lost. In a forest, alone, or in the clutches of a witch.

The show takes up the traces of the fairy tale Hansel and Gretel, playing, thinking and intertwining well-known stories and personal experiences, linked to one of the most multifaceted relationships in history, of stories: being sisters and brothers.

The first day of the festival will close at 8pm, at the Diego Fabbri Theatre, with THE GIRL OF THE WOLVES, a new production of the Teatro Gioco Vita based on the novel of the same name by Katherine Rundell, winner of the Hans Christian Andersen Award, the most prestigious award given to books for boys. A wolf-liberal is the opposite of a tamer: he welcomes a wolf raised in captivity and teaches him to live in the woods again. An adventure through snowy woods and frozen lands, which talks about courage, friendship, trust, about boys and children who try to change things.

Information: all shows are open to the public free of charge (subject to availability).
