PAVIA – Today at 5pm, at the headquarters of Confagricoltura Pavia in via Fabio Filzi, an important memorandum of understanding will be signed between the agricultural association and the Lombardy Food Bank. The agreement, entitled “Development of activities of social value in the food sector”, has the aim of creating a synergy between the agricultural world and solidarity organizations to combat food waste and support people in difficulty.

With the signing of the protocol the agricultural companies associated with Confagricoltura Pavia will be able to donate food surpluses to the Food Bank, which will distribute them to needy families. A concrete initiative that represents a virtuous example of how companies and organizations can collaborate to achieve a common goal: the fight against food waste and the promotion of the value of food.

The importance of the anti-waste law, promulgated in 2016, is underlined by the numbers: in three years it has allowed the donation of over 1.1 million medicines, around 700 thousand meals and over 7,600 tonnes of surplus food.
