The Bologna Local Health Authority recognizes leave normally linked to parenting of homosexual couples. Satisfaction in the union house: for the FP CGIL “a right is finally guaranteed”.
Following a battle that the union has been waging for months with the Bologna local health authority to ensure that it recognizes leave normally linked to parenting for homosexual couples, the objective has finally been achieved.
Commenting on the news is Teresa Pallottiofficial of the Bologna Ausl for the FP Cgil, and Marco Pasquini general secretary of the FP CGIL of Bologna: “We believe this an important step, culturally and unionically, because the guarantee of rights for all is one of our main missions. It was in the platform that led us to the strike on May 23rd and it is another result achieved.”
The trade unionists then add: “We want to thank those who took action at all levels to allow this result, which for us is only the continuation of a path that aims to guarantee in healthcare companies equal ‘real’ opportunities and not just declared. We are certain that the other healthcare companies of the metropolitan city and the local authorities, starting from the capital municipality, they will implement the rule immediately”.
