Late yesterday afternoon, staff from the General Prevention and Public Rescue Office reported two men residing in the capital to the judicial authorities for aggravated theft of a smartwatch.
At approximately 7.15 pm, a patrol of the State Police intervened at a telephone shop located in the railway district following a request from the owner who reported that, shortly after 5 pm, two individuals entered the shop on the pretext of purchasing some goods, they had appropriated a watch displayed in one of the shop windows.
Only when both had left the business did the owner realize the theft had occurred, which was then confirmed by viewing the images recorded by the video surveillance system.
Having acquired all the necessary information, the crew set out to look for the two subjects, already known to the police due to police records, tracing one at his home and the other in a street in the city centre.
Taken to the police station for further investigations, they were referred to the judicial authorities for aggravated theft in conspiracy; for one of the two subjects, due to his behavior towards the operators during the identification phases, a complaint was also made for threatening and resisting a public official.
It is represented that the persons subjected to preliminary investigations are presumed innocent until a final sentence is reached.
