After three months of temporary transfer due to the reorganization of the department in Modena
After three months of temporary transfer, due to the need to tidy up the rooms devastated by an erupting patient, the Psychiatry Diagnosis and Treatment department leaves the Ramazzini hospital in Carpi to return to its Modena headquarters in the Baggiovara hospital. In February, the Psychiatric Diagnosis and Treatment Service was seriously damaged by a patient in the throes of a devastating fury and, a few days later, it was decided to temporarily transfer him to Carpi to allow, in addition to repairing the damage, also a series of work to make the environments safe. “The structural adaptation works have been completed – communicates the Local Health Authority – from Monday 17 June the Psychiatric Diagnosis and Treatment Service (SPDC) will return to its premises at the Baggiovara Hospital, renovated and made even safer for professionals and patients. As communicated in March, the transfer to Carpi was necessary as a temporary solution to allow the execution of some targeted interventions”.
From Monday therefore the return to Baggiovara. “This concludes the experience within the Carpi structure – comments the Local Health Authority – linked to the need to guarantee a prompt response to the health needs of a fragile segment of the population, such as those with psychiatric pathologies. However, a positive experience , which gave the Baggiovara and Carpi teams the opportunity to find common synergies, with a view to mutual enrichment”. The February affair at the SPDC in Baggiovara had raised many questions and protests from various parties: lack of staff and inadequacy of the premises hosting the Service had been denounced by the healthcare unions.
