PALERMO – Un fire it broke out in a ground floor apartment in via Francesco Perez on the night between Friday 14th and Saturday 15th June in Palermo.

They intervened firefighters who put out the flames which apparently started from a short circuit which caused smoke between the rooms.

Two women were in the houseaged 67 and 24, who were intoxicated and treated by 118 medical personnel.

On the same night the firefighters had to intervene six times in the Zen 2 district to put out fires of uncollected rubbish. Smoke invaded homes in the area.

Fires also broke out in the province of Palermoin particular a Campofelice di Roccella and Buonfornello. Several hectares of vegetation burned

Volunteers from the Giubbe d’Italia of Cefalù also intervened in Buonfornello, as requested by the regional civil protection department.

In Campofelice di Roccella, one hectare of land was destroyed near the mouth of the Grande river. Here foresters and firefighters put out the fire.

Own in Campofelice di Roccella the municipal police officers fined 50 land owners who had not cleaned them of weeds. Checks are underway to ascertain whether the fire started from one of these lands.
