A 73-year-old was attacked after the Rizzi festival.
The night between Friday 14th and Saturday 15th June was the scene of an attempted robbery damages of one of those responsible for the Sagra dei Borghi, held in the Rizzi. The victim is a 73-year-old man who, despite his advanced age, demonstrated great courage and quick reflexes.
The seventy-three year old was returning home in the company of a woman, taking with him the evening’s proceeds. However, at a dimly lit street, an unknown individual approached the two, attempting to rob them in an unusual and dangerous way. The criminal, in fact, downloaded the contents of a fire extinguisher on the elderly man, trying to take advantage of the chaos created to steal the evening’s proceeds from him.
Despite the surprise and confusion, the elderly man reacted promptly, managing to put the attacker to flight, who fled on foot and disappeared into the night. The woman who accompanied him suffered a slight injury to her arm during the attack, but fortunately nothing serious.
The carabinieri of the Udine operational and mobile radio unit intervened promptly at the site of the accident. The police immediately started investigations to track down the person responsible for the attempted robbery, collecting testimonies and analyzing any traces left on site.
