During an operation to combat urban crime near the railway station of PaduaFlying Squad agents arrested a 25-year-old Nigerian irregular, already known for specific precedents, while he was selling heroin to a driver.
Bus driver caught buying heroin near the terminus
During a control service, the officers, stationed in Via Tommaseo, noticed a man quickly approaching from the nearby bus terminus.
After a short conversation with the stranger, the man received a small package. Having checked both, the officers discovered that the stranger had given up a dose of heroin. Furthermore, during the search, they found other doses of heroin and marijuanaas well as 150 euros in cash.
It had already been suspended in the past
What surprised the agents was the fact that the buyer was a bus driver of the urban and extra-urban transport service of Padua. The driver admitted to being a regular customer of the pusher and that he obtained that dose by promising to pay for it in the next few days. Already in the past, just a year and a half ago, he had been suspended from public service for three months.
Although he was not on duty on this occasion, the officers will proceed with the report to the Prefecture and with a communication for the review of his suitability for servicegiven the obvious danger of driving public transport.
The pusher, however, was arrested and immediately tried. The judge pronounced a sentence of nine months’ imprisonment and a fine of 1000 eurosalso starting the expulsion procedure.
