Carrara – Alessandro Giandomenici leaves behind two children. The condolences of the Police Headquarters, “he was a brilliant policeman, empathetic, ready to spend himself for others, serving the whole community with great commitment and strong dedication”. With “immense pain” the Massa-Carrara Police Headquarters bids farewell to Alessandro Giandomenici, the 53-year-old Assistant Chief Coordinator working for the Carrara Police Station who died on Thursday evening in a road accident. The off-duty policeman was walking along Via Massa-Avenza towards Carrara: near the Rossi Leato dealership, a car appeared from a side road and hit him. Giandomenici’s condition immediately appeared serious and despite the immediate arrival of help, the 53-year-old died shortly afterwards at the Apuane Hospital. The Prosecutor’s Office opened a case for road homicide and ordered an autopsy. Hundreds of messages of condolence for the death of the Policeman, who leaves behind two children, one aged 21 and one aged 19.
“He was a brilliant policeman, empathetic, ready to spend himself for others, serving the entire community with great commitment and strong dedication. With immense pain we must say goodbye to him, but the memory of him will remain indelible in our hearts” they write from the Police Headquarters. “On behalf of the entire city I want to express the most sincere condolences to the family of Alessandro Giandomenici and the closeness of our community to all the women and men of the Massa-Carrara Police Headquarters and the Carrara Police Station” writes the Mayor of Carrara Serena Arrighi
“You were special and none of us will ever be able to forget you….Thank you for the time we spent together.
Thank you for teaching us to smile. Thank you for choosing us in your life” we read in the post by Apuania Bikers, the group of motorcyclists of which Giandomenici was part. The association of the fishermen of the Forte dei Marmi pier also joins in the condolences, together with the members of the Marina di Massa pier, which “is close to the pain of the family of our dear friend Alessandro”.
