The search for the little girl who disappeared a year ago from the former Astor hotel in Florence continues. Both mother Katherine Alvarez Vasquez and her 8-year-old brother have returned to the prosecutor’s office. She will soon also return to the former hotel where they lived.

The prosecutor Filippo Spiezia – who in recent days took stock of the investigations – and the prosecutors Christine von Borries and Giuseppe Ledda do not leave out any leads and for this reason they are listening to the little girl’s relatives, friends and acquaintances again to try to reconstruct what happened over a year ago. And precisely, as people informed of the facts, Kata’s mother and her little brother were summoned again, who is one of the last to have seen her sister on that day in June 2023 and who had already been interviewed after the her disappearance.
That day a camera had filmed the two little brothers as they left the gate of the former hotel to go and play with other children. The images then immortalized little Kata going back and returning alone to the structure where she lived with her family. Finally, that camera had also filmed her while she climbed the fire escape to the third floor and then went down.

The wife of Kata’s maternal uncle, Abel Abel Alvarez Vasquez, who is under investigation together with his paternal uncle and three other former occupants of the former hotel, was also interviewed again in recent days. Most likely in the next few weeks we will also return to the former Astor.
In recent days Spiezia explained that they are currently there four leads to follow and confirmed that it is a complex investigation. “We believe that Kata’s disappearance is the result of the implementation of a well-organized plan and not of an impromptu activity”, the words of the prosecutor.
