Guichardaz, «more psychological support in schools»

The councilor’s announcement during the press conference at the end of the school year

Greater psychological support in schools starting from the next school year, 2024/2025. The announcement comes from the regional councilor for the educational system and policies for intergenerational relations, Jean Pierre Guichardaz.

On the occasion of the press conference at the end of the school year – last June 6, lessons ended for 13,940 Aosta Valley students – Guichardaz highlighted that «psychological distress is a theme that has manifested itself in its tragic nature in recent years, but is latent and it greatly affects the lives of our children and families.”

The councilor also spoke about the importance of inclusion: «ours is a system that must be at the service of the person. Valle d’Aosta – he declared – invests a lot of money to make the necessary support teachers available: an important support that is also useful for the classroom”.

As regards school buildings, «in the last six years we have increased the resources to be made available sixfold, going from one to six million. It is an important signal, because we believed that it was useful to invest and help local authorities to be able to intervene on school buildings, which must be high quality and safe”.
