Grosseto – In the company of Daniele Antolovic, from Viterbo by adoption, in the Maremma since the 90s first as a player then as a coach; now back in Tuscia as coach of Ischia di Castro.
Daniele, thirty years in Maremma, how can I forget them?
“Absolutely impossible. I started as a footballer with Pitigliano in the first category, the second year at the request of the president I also took on the role of coach and the following year we even managed to make the leap in category and move up to Excellence; a real record for the town!”
Were they the years of the clashes with Grosseto?
“Yes exactly. I remember that playing against a renowned team like Grosseto was an honor and a considerable stimulus. Fortunately for me, I have several anecdotes that I remember against Grosseto.
In particular, I think it was in 1986, the last Serie D championship match against Grosseto. I played with Narni’s Elettrocarbonium; it was played in Staggia Senese on a neutral pitch as Zecchini was disqualified. I remember that we had one point more than Grosseto and we were fighting not to be relegated, a draw was enough for us.
Maremma fans skyrocket and they take the lead; twenty minutes from the end we equalize with a goal from me, we are safe! (Grosseto relegated NDR) I met Grosseto again in 90/91, I played for Cerveteri Serie D, we won two-nil with my goals.”
