Grosseto celebrates the arrival of sponsor New Energy with the first sensational home victory in game 1 against San Marino. Oberto’s boys overcame the initial deficit and thwarted the visitors’ comeback attempt, before landing the knockout blow.
San Marino takes the lead in the 1st with Diaz who goes around the bases with a steal+error and a wild throw from Gomez (8bv-3so, 5.1rl), but has to deal with the red and white comeback in the 3rd : Pedrol puts Garcia and Chelli on base, who score on the big triple to the fence of Vaglio, who makes it 3-1 on a wild pitch. Grosseto goes 6-4 with a powerful serve along the line from Barcelan (3/3) and closes the match with a grand slam from Garcia.
Sixth victory of the season for Bsc Big Mat Grosseto on the diamond of Hotsand Macerata (3-2). Angelo Palumbo, surprisingly deployed as a starter by manager Stefano Cappuccini, muzzles the Marche line-up (3bv-7so in 5rl), while the Tuscan clubs score the decisive points on Correa (6bv-4so) between the 1st and 4th inning. In the opening shot Ericson Leonora he scores just one homer, the double in the 3rd comes thanks to Sellaroli’s double and Aloma’s. At the 4th, Captain Cinelli beats a double and scores on Beau Maggi’s rebound. The hosts make up for it under the last attack on relief Barreto, who puts Joseph and Fabrizio on base, who score the 3-2 with two wild throws. Too little to deny BSC success.
