Ragusa – From today, June 15, the celebrations for the solemnity of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist, patron saint of the city and the diocese of Ragusa, begin in the Cathedral of Ragusa.

Calendar of Celebrations The liturgical initiatives of the Ragusa Cathedral have expanded in recent years, with an increasingly rich and complex calendar. The celebrations will culminate on Monday 24 June, but will begin as early as tomorrow. Here is the detailed program:

Mass program

  • June 15: Prayer of the Holy Rosary at 6.30pm and Eucharistic celebration at 7.00pm.
  • Sunday: Masses at 9:00, 10:30 and 12:00, with an additional mass in the afternoon at 7:00.
  • Saturday and Sunday: During the masses, offerings will be collected for the celebrations at the end of August in honor of Saint John the Baptist.

Special events

  • Ignition of torches: It is possible to light the torches in honor of the patron saint in the garden of Corso Vittorio Veneto. Contact the sacristy for further information.
  • Draw: Tickets for the draw, with the draw scheduled for September 6, are already on sale. Prizes up for grabs:
