SARONNO – In view of the inauguration of the plaque to Matteotti in the square dedicated to him, the Democratic Party of Saronno shared the post of the Provincial Secretary of the Anpi of Ferrara:
“Poste Italiane has issued a stamp dedicated to Italo Foschi, fascist militant, organizer of the squadrismo in Rome, loyal to Mussolini until the Republic of Salò, when Italy suffered the massacres of the black brigades and the Nazi SS, also known for having congratulated with Amerigo Dumini, writing to him that he was a hero for the assassination of Giacomo Matteotti, a courageous free man killed by fascist squadristi for his ideas. Therefore, while in these days we remember the assassination of Giacomo Matteotti by fascist squads, the government of our country pays homage in the same days, with a stamp, to those who shared that brutal assassination. We condemn this grave and shameful provocation. This stamp is an offense to the memory of Matteotti, and of all the anti-fascists who gave their lives for freedom and democracy for our country, we therefore ask that the distribution be blocked immediately.”
