The awards ceremony for the regularity test of the Mille Miglia is scheduled today at the Guardia di Finanza Academy in Bergamo, a motoring event in which the Fiamme Gialle took part on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the Corps with two historic cars, an Alta Romeo 1900 Super (1954) and a 1958 Fiat 1100. The commander of the Academy, General of Division Paolo Kalenda and the provincial commander of Brescia Francesco Maceroni will present the winners of the regularity test to the pilot and navigator of the Mille Miglia crew two prized ceramic prizes from Caltagirone, works created by Giacomo Cusumano’s artisan workshop. The regularity test was held on Tuesday 11 June, on the occasion of the first stage of the Mille Miglia, in the beautiful setting of the Bergamo Academy of the Guardia di Finanza. For today’s ceremony the Academy will be festively adorned with yellow-green and tricolor drapes and inside it will display historic vehicles and motorcycles such as the Moto Guzzi 500 Falcone Sport, the Moto Morini Corsaro 125 “Testa Piatta”, the Alfa Romeo Alfetta 2.0 and the Fiat 508 Balilla “Cassonato”. Bergamo welcomed the passage of the Mille Miglia on Tuesday 11 June, the large motor caravan that left Brescia in the morning and which, after crossing the Orobic capital, headed towards Monza and Novara, before stopping in Turin. On 11 June the runners also entered the Guardia di Finanza Academy in Bergamo for the traditional “stamping”. Then they headed towards Curno. The first cars were “heard” in the streets of the Orobic capital around midday, parading along the main road of the city center up to the Gdf Academy.
