Bosch away from Castel San Giovanni: meeting to find alternative solutions

After the meeting convened in the Prefecture, in Piacenza, to prevent Bosch from leaving the Castel San Giovanni logistics hub, putting 138 jobs at risk, a truce was reached. At the beginning of next week Bosch and Geodis (the client to which the German multinational entrusts the movement of its goods in Castel San Giovanni) will meet to try to find alternative solutions. Any proposals will be made official at a new table that has already been convened for next Friday, again in the Prefecture.

The position of the unions

“We – say Massimo Tarenchi (Filt Cgil), Salvatore Buono (Fit Cisl) and Mohamed Arafat (SICobas) – are only interested in one thing and that is that work continuity is given to all 138 workers that Bosch has employed in Castel for 14 years. Saint John. We will not accept as justification that of a transfer motivated solely by the company’s desire to save money”

News – In July Bosch will leave the Castel San Giovanni logistics hub. There are 140 jobs at risk. The news came as a cold shower and this morning, Friday 14 June, the unions asked for an urgent meeting with the Prefect, Paolo Ponta. The German multinational has expressed its intention to move to another logistics site in Lacchiarella, in the Milan area and entrust the movement of its goods to DHL. Participating at the table today in the prefecture will be Fit Cisl, Filt Cgil, SICobas, Labor Inspectorate, Consorzio Cal and Cooperativa Leo. Representatives from Bosch and Dhl were obviously also invited to participate. The greatest concern is obviously for the 140 workers who are provided by the Leo cooperative of the Cal Consortium.
