The project

The operational reclamation project (Pob) of the Via Fura Nord and Sud park, with a total value of 1,580,000 euros (720 thousand euros for the north side and 860 thousand euros for the south), was financed entirely with Pnrr funds and was divided into two interventions, carried out simultaneously.

The environmental reclamation of the north side of the park affected an area of approximately 7,500 square meters, while that of the south side involved a total area of approximately 4,500 square meters. The park area was divided into links, ten on the north side and eight on the south side, with an average surface area of 600 square meters each. The execution of the reclamation, as foreseen by the operational project drawn up following the analysis of the specific risk for the site – also approved by the Bodies – involved the selective excavation of some parts of the park for the removal of the non-compliant soil-subsoil and reintegration with suitable soil.

During the excavations they were adopted preventive measures and monitoring: for the measurement of dust, environmental and personal monitoring was carried out, two meter high blind anti-dust panels were positioned around the entire perimeter of the construction site and water sprayers were used during the movement of the contaminated soil, to reduce dust in worksite.

At the end of the reclamation, after having completed excavations and backfilling, the garden and park furnishings were restored. The play areas and concrete structures have been maintained and restored, as have the games, while the gravel paths, located in the areas undergoing reclamation, have been redone, restoring them to their current location.

25 trees were replaced (16 on the north side and 9 on the south side), now at the end of their life, and 39 (26 + 13) of different essences were planted. A drip irrigation system has been created for these plants which will ensure their rooting. The entire permeable surface was sown and kept as lawn. With regard to park furniturefinally, the benches and picnic sets in the reclaimed area were replaced with wooden elements.
