The organizers announced it in a note, underlining that the initiative has “always been anti-fascist and pacifist” and that “this year too confirms its itinerant formula and the desire to reach where Pride is needed most.”

“This year we will bring our fabulous bodies and our creative anger to the streets of Lucca – declared Toscana Pride spokesperson Monia Marcacci -. We are building a Even more intersectional Pride who will speak with the voice of all people marginalized as LGBT*+, racialized or migrants, with disabilities, fat, precarious and unemployed. Toscana Pride rejects religious hatred and takes a stand against the genocidal massacre that is taking place in Gaza, in support of the Palestinian people, for the self-determination of peoples and for an immediate ceasefire. We will ask the citizens to join us in the fight to get an anti-discrimination law based on sexual orientation and gender identity and against misogyny and ableism, the recognition of daughters and sons of same-parent families, a law on adoptions also for singles and couples of the same gender, a new law for the right to self-determination of trans* and non-binary people and a law banning restorative therapies. What will lead us to the parade will be a participatory process in which we would like associations, collectives and free subjects to take part. We expect a great participation because today more than ever we can and must remain together and on the same side”.
The regional councilor for equal opportunities, Alessandra Nardini, applauds the initiative: “Indomitable and proud like the Lucca panther. There will be so many of us on September 7th at Toscana Pride, which this year will be in Lucca. I will be there and the Tuscany Region will be there, always proudly alongside the LGBTQIA+ community and its battles. This year more than ever it is essential to be there, given the attacks by the right and the Meloni Government on rights, freedoms and self-determination. The institutions, all of them, must be there and take the side of rights, against discrimination.
