After the ‘mysteries’ and ‘noir’ stories, a series of meetings dedicated to the climate and the environment begin at Monticelli Castle: a topic of great current interest and interest. The events are organized by the Gruppo Culturale Mostre, based on an idea by the Cremonese journalist Roberto Fiorentini and with the collaboration of the publishing house Ronca Editore of Cremona.

Special guest for the first evening, Sunday 16 June at 9pm, the well-known meteorologist Andrea Giuliacci who will talk about ongoing climate changes with his volume ‘The climate you don’t expect’. The following Sunday, June 23rd again at 9pm, it will be Isabella Riva’s turn, an expert in communicating to children everything regarding the change in the weather. The guest will present ‘Martina the meteorologist’, a text dedicated to children and teachers to introduce children to the themes of nature and the environment.

Andrea Corigliano, graduated in Physics at the University of Genoa and specialized in Atmospheric Physics and Meteorology at the University of Bologna, studied the development of techniques for combining multi-model ensemble systems for the prediction of atmospheric circulation; he will be a guest on Sunday 30 June at 9pm. The author has written, for Ronca Editore, a monumental work dedicated to meteorology.

On Saturday 6 July, again at 9pm, Davide Persico from Cremona, professor at the University of Parma and founder of the Paleoanthropological Museum of the Po, will return to the Rocca with his ‘Terramara – Climate change in the Po Valley’. This is a real work of research into the evidence of climate change in the Bassa area.”

This cycle of meetings will close with: Maria Cristina Bertonazzi who has been part, since 2019, of a research group of the Department of Sustainable Plant Production Sciences – Faculty of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Sciences, Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Piacenza. The pool of experts started a monitoring project, still ongoing, in libraries, archives and museums in Piacenza and Cremona. As part of these investigations he discovered a new species of insect: the Sphaeropsocopsis utriusquemariaechristinae present in our territory. The appointment has been set for Sunday 7 July at 9pm.
