After the success of the first edition with over 15 thousand people, it is about to return to Livorno White night of sport. This year it will take place Saturday 13 July, from 6.30pm to 2.30am, once again between via dei Pensieri, via Allende and the various sports facilities in the area which are part of the so-called Citadel of sport. The event is organized by Lem Foundation, an organization that deals with major events for tourism purposes on behalf of the Municipality of Livorno, in collaboration with the provincial committee of CONI. The event was presented this morning at the city’s Cisternino. The newly elected mayor Luca Salvetti was present, at his first press conference of the second mandate, the events organization manager of the LEM Foundation Adriano Tramonti, Gianni Tacchi, LEM contact person for relations with sports federations, Gianni Giannone provincial CONI manager and Marta Priore responsible for contacts with suppliers for the LEM Foundation. The Italian volleyball player was also present Elena Pietrini who will be the testimonial of the event. The objective of the White Night of sport, unique event in Italyis not only to celebrate the sporting tradition of Livorno, a city that will also be a protagonist at the next Paris Olympics, but to allow young people, boys and girls to try every discipline. All the facilities in the area, from the Armando Picchi stadium to the PalaMacchia via the Camalich swimming pool, will be open and will welcome families for an evening of sport and fun. Compared to last year, the school field will also be available, having just reopened with the new athletics track and ready to be at the center of the event, with the various athletics specialties and inflatables for the little ones.

“Last year – says the mayor Luca Salvetti – the white night of sport was an event that worked and the result of the 15 thousand people who populated the citadel of sport is there to testify all of this. That format that worked very well, because it was fun and engaging, has been calibrated even better this time. All this means that in this second edition there will be the associations of the various disciplines, there will be the CONI which coordinates the sporting front, there will be a good show that will be proposed by the Lem Foundation and there will be all the best ingredients to spend an evening of interest , both for the people of Livorno but also for those who look at Livorno from outside. The main objective will naturally once again be to create a showcase of the various disciplines also with the involvement of personalities, male and female champions”.

“This is a second edition that is even more multifaceted and complex than the 2023 edition” he states Adriano Tramonti. “A big help comes from the municipality’s sports office and its manager Enrico Montagnani. It is the first press conference of the mayor’s new mandate, but it is one of many that cover the events organized by the LEM Foundation from April to December”.

Points out Gianni Giannone: “Already last year there were those who tried to copy this unique event in Italy. The new edition, as it should be, will be improved compared to the previous one. All the federations will be present, confirming the attention paid to the event. Finally we can showcase all the beauty of Livorno sport. On the other hand, every time I meet Giovanni Malagò he reminds me of what he has done and is doing in the sporting field. I take this opportunity to say that an initiative on the historical archives of Livorno sport will soon be carried out, with the contribution of all the federations and clubs”.

“There are basically three new features this year,” he says Gianni Tacchi. “The first concerns the organisation, in the car park of the school camp, of an area intended for sports shows of skating, gymnastics, wrestling, aerial acrobatics with fabrics and more. The second concerns the doubling of the food area that will be present under the south curve. The third concerns the availability of use of the recently renovated school field”.

Concludes Martha Prior: “The work underway by the Lem Foundation involves relationships with many skills and many suppliers to obtain the best result. The food area has been doubled, bringing the food trucks that will be available to 6. Soon we will also be able to reveal the names of the artists who will perform to make the 2024 White Night attractive for everyone, even the youngest.”

They will be 42 people were present at the event, between sports federations and promotional bodies, for a total of 56 sports activities planned, with a hundred clubs and thousands of young people, boys and girls involved. From basketball to rugby, from tennis to cycling, passing through all the other disciplines present in the city, with some new features such as subbuteo and surfing. The White Night of Sport – started from an idea of ​​the mayor of Livorno, Luca Salvetti – will also see the involvement of many Livorno champions of yesterday and today. This year too, the main stage will be located in the car park of the school field, where 6 talks on Livorno sport are scheduled, followed by music, and the area for sports shows will also be set up. Outside the stadium, under the south curve, there will be the food area. Sports talks and shows will be held from 6.30pm to 11.00pm, while from 11.00pm to 2.30am the White Night of Sports will move to the rhythm of music for the younger ones.
