Ancona14 June 2024 – The women’s flag football team of the Gls Dolphins Ancona closes in glory, registered for the first time in the highest national specialty championship, also known by the acronym F3.

After many defeats the victory was achieved in the last match of the finals played last weekend at the Little prince of Grosseto.

However, let’s proceed in order to say that on 7 June the Dolphins Girls first lost against the Elephants Catania by 34 to 6, then against the Pirates Savona by 40 to 14 and finally against the Flag Academy Trieste with a score of 52 to 27.

On the 8th however, after the defeat against the Hogs Reggio Emilia by 26 to 6, came the defeats against the Aquile Ferrara by 34 to 20 and then against the Arciere Asti by 24 to 12.

Finally, on June 9th, after having lost early in the morning against the Heroes Milano by 33 to 7, here was the first victory against the Arciere Asti by 19 to 13. A result that was worth the fifteenth final place in the standings, in a championship that since let’s say it was straight away used to give all the girls experience.

He thinks about explaining everything as often happens Riccardo Petrilli: «The very young Dolphins Girls project ended in Grossetto on 7, 8 and 9 June.

The girls showed themselves very ready to compete at the highest level, against teams from all over the country and above all against franchises that boast important experience in women’s flag football. In the end they came fifteenth out of sixteen.

We are still happy – he adds Petrilli – of the journey we have made, beyond the final placing and we are even more motivated. Also because we want to make Ancona a point of reference for the development of women’s flag football throughout Italy».

Furthermore “the fact remains that having shared the pitch against top-level teams will certainly be a fundamental step for the development, growth and ambitions of our group of girls.

They returned to Ancona even more determined and energized than ever and with even more desire to continue working to achieve certain goals starting next year.”

Always for Petrilli «the most beautiful thing to see, for us involved, was finding ourselves in this national context of women’s flag football and being able to breathe and touch the commitment of so many girls who dedicate so much time and sacrifice to this passion. The enthusiasm and energy breathed in Grosseto was something fantastic and we will try to make the whole experience our own».
