Luciano Spalletti does not go too far. Not even on the form. Just over 24 hours before the match against Albania, the national team’s coach stated that they can play with three as well as four and left no trace on the eleven that will debut in Dortmund.
Yesterday in his tactical tests he insisted on the four-man defence, a 4-2-3-1 which will have Gianluca Scamacca as its offensive leader: “He has grown a lot in recent times and we congratulated him. He is complete, he is everything.” The coach then showed himself to be optimistic about the possibility of fielding Nicolò Barella from the first minute: “He did everything yesterday, he will be there today when he does some training again. What matters a lot is the opinion of the doctors because the footballers always want to play. But everything from last night suggests that he will be available.”
In the four-man defense the presence of Bastoni and also that of Dimarco is obvious, with Calafiori on the centre-left and Di Lorenzo on the right side completing the line. In attack, behind the Atalanta center forward, the three players who will have to give us greater unpredictability will act: Chiesa, Frattesi and Pellegrini.
