“Slow things are the most beautiful. You have to know how to wait.”. You don’t always need to go fast, skip ahead of everyone else and immediately demonstrate that you’re the best. Sometimes it’s better to wait and grow in silencebecause not everyone has the same timing but that doesn’t mean they don’t have the same talent. Daniel Theiner, a full-back owned by Sassuolo, waited a few seasons longer than his peers, but still managed to get where he wanted and achieve some of the most important goals of his young career. Now with the Emilians he has become Italian champion as an absolute protagonist and can be considered as one of the best players in his role in the Primavera championship. Next year he will move to the first team and return to Sudtirol (barring some new transfer moves).

But who is Daniel Theiner and what is his story of expectations and revenge? Let’s find out together.

Daniel Theiner – Sassuolo Primavera

Theiner, route and characteristics

Daniel Theiner was born in Merano, the capital of the autonomous province of Bolzano, on 25 February 2004. His journey began with the shirt of South Tyrolbut the club decided last season to sell him (temporarily) with a two-year loan to Sassuolo. For him the arrival was not the easiest, also due to the presence of Gioele Zacchi, Sassuolo Primavera’s first goalkeeper, who did not “give him the chance” to play many matches but at the same time allowed him to grow gradually. This season in the championship, however, he has shown everyone that he is fully up to his role, totaling 34 appearances (between regular season and final phase) full of great performances and saves. He shows remarkable confidence between the posts and one of his most extraordinary skills is his speed in diving, thanks to the speed with which he goes from decision to action. He maintains a solid position in goal and, in various situations, manages to contribute effectively to the team’s play.

Theiner, champion of Italy and Viareggio

This year, among the many satisfactions, Theiner became Italian champion with Sassuolo Primavera, playing the Final Six and above all the final match in an exemplary manner. In fact, thanks to his saves, the Neroverdi always remained in the game, later managing to score and definitively sink their opponents. Before this great achievement, however, the class of 2004 had already obtained another trophy: the Viareggio Tournament in 2022. Even in that case he conquered the stage, even winning the best goalkeeper award of the tournament. We will therefore see what his fate will be in September and we will find out in which shirt he will continue to use the gloves as he is accustomed to.
