They started with setting up the first construction site in via Vannucci the works for the construction of «Safe Mobility 2023» projectborn from the evaluation of the requests and reports received in the Lodge from the Neighborhood Councils and from individual citizens, especially regarding the topic ofaccessibility for people with disabilities.
The interventions are 23 in totaldistributed in 17 areas of Brescia, and provide for the safety of key elements for the pedestrian and cycle mobility such as road crossings, pedestrian and cycle paths and bus stops public transportwhich will be carried out with the aim of promoting sustainable and safe travel.
The executive project, approved in December 2023, provides for a total expenditure of 800 thousand euros. «Every year we budget in the Public Works Plan a budget dedicated to widespread road safety interventions, which we establish based on the reports received – explains the councilor for Mobility, Federico Manzoni -. The interventions are then contracted out and carried out the following year, in fact now we are working on planning for 2024».
Having safer roads «has become, compared to the past, a real social need – adds the councilor -. If before, in the case of a dangerous intersection, it was known to everyone but it was limited to that, today people are asking for it to be made safe.”
«The awarding of the works to Art Costruzioni of Salò took place on the basis of a three-year framework agreement which includes two companies – states the manager of the Technical Service of the Mobility sector, Nadia Bresciani – and allows savings both in terms of timing and from the from an economic point of view.”
