PRESS RELEASE
Ranica, 14 June 2024 – The works for the construction of the new T2 Bergamo – Villa d’Almè line are proceeding regularly along the entire route of the future tram line. In particular, the interventions necessary to define the route along two strategic stops such as Ponteranica and Stadio make some significant changes to the road system necessary.
In the municipality of Ponteranica, the streets Pontesecco and Valbona currently closed for works, will be reopened starting from Tuesday 25 June. On the same date, the establishment of a one-way street descending in via Papa Giovanni XXIII, in the direction of via Maresana, is planned. At the same time, the section of via Maresana will be closed which allows entry to the town for those coming from the provincial SP ex SS 470, effectively leaving only the downhill lane open, between the intersection with via Papa Giovanni XXIII on one side and the provincial on the other. Access to the town will be guaranteed via via Pontesecco, continuing along via Valbona. In the same period, a ban on parking with forced removal will be established in the car parks in front of the Scuola Vivace, to allow the establishment of the construction site area necessary for the installation of construction materials. This change to traffic will be active until July 15, 2024.
Starting from 15 July 2024 and until the completion of the works expected by the end of 2024, via Papa Giovanni XXIII will be closed to traffic in both directions. In this case access will only be allowed to residents of the street. Access to the town will be guaranteed via via Pontesecco, continuing along via Valbona while in the opposite direction towards Bergamo the route will be guaranteed via via Maresana.
Starting from 1 July 2024 and until the end of the works scheduled for June 2026, however, the cycle path that involves the Ramera Tunnel will be closed, starting from the height of the Bo.po and up to the exit of the tunnel, on the stretch of cycle path within the municipality of Bergamo.
In the municipality of Bergamo, starting from Thursday 20 June and until 31 August 2024, Viale Giulio Cesare will be closed to traffic in the stretch between numbers 26 and 31. In the same period, a parking ban with forced removal in the area is established. parking corresponding to the entrance to the former Reggiani company.
Transit will be allowed in via Suardi Gianforte, in the stretch between via Noli Alessandro and the intersection with via F.lli Bronzetti, in particular in the lane for those coming from the center towards the suburbs.
Both construction sites are currently subject to other minor changes to the road system. All residents affected by the route of the new line can check the active changes by consulting the dedicated page on the website http://www.t2vallebrembana.it
