Shock rally in Pescara: candidate for municipal elections cuts himself in the square to “swear in blood” – News

Pescara. Shock electoral rally, in Pescara, where the candidate for the city council for the Pescara Futura list, Michele Calvani, went so far as to cause cuts on his arm, in Piazza Salotto, to stage an oath in blood.

Calvani, yesterday afternoon, held a rally in the central square of the city, where he used a small open van as a stage to speak to a small audience. At a certain point in his speech, the candidate for the list in support of Carlo Masci’s centre-right took off his jacket, shortened his shirt sleeve and caused himself some cuts – fortunately superficial – on the outside of his forearm right with a knife, reciting an oath with the voters.

“I sacrifice my virtue in my blood,” he said to the dismay of those present, continuing to cut himself, swearing that “to all of you that I will always tell the truth, but by right of blood and not because I make it up. Until the last moment of my life I will strive to realize what I said in front of you all, that I will never lie so that if I were to lie the blood can fall from my body and wash away the shame.”

Once the oath was over, Calvani thanked the audience: some applauded, many were astonished. A scene also immortalized by those present and, as is inevitable nowadays, it ended up online and in the chats of people from Pescara. Many, however, are now waiting for a reaction from the centre-right coalition, judging what happened to be inadmissible.
