Piendibene: «Civitavecchia inclusive and supportive, a commitment for everyone»

CIVITAVECCHIA – «One of the objectives that I hold most dear is to make Civitavecchia a more inclusive city, attentive to the needs of each of us». This was assured by the centre-left mayoral candidate Marco Piendibene, illustrating the three themes on which to focus and which he believes can contribute to the formation of a society within everyone’s reach. «Associationism first of all, which represents a key element for promoting networks of active subjects, promoting inclusion and making citizens, associations and informal groups protagonists. Our city already has a wonderful network of people who are committed to this, this network will be thickened and listens and will have a direct line with Palazzo del Pincio – he explained – it is also necessary to establish a Regulation for the shared administration of tangible and intangible common goods, in addition to the setting up of a desk for assistance in the drafting and reporting of Projects funded. There solidarity it is another fundamental pillar of my program. We can no longer conceive of a society in which those in need remain marginalized. For this reason I want to meet the needs of the most needy as much as possible, with the establishment of a free public dormitory or at political prices for those in situations of serious socio-economic difficulty and a social canteen. Furthermore, we will establish a Social Medicine Clinic for individuals excluded from healthcare, because guaranteeing everyone the right to health is not a choice, but a duty. Last but not least the third sector, which constitutes the zenith around which modern societies revolve. For this reason it is essential to take care of it in depth, with the establishment of a Guarantor for people with disabilities, a Guarantor for Childhood and Adolescence and with the establishment of an observatory for the control of addictions and mental health. The support must be total – concluded the mayoral candidate – and we can do this by establishing a coordination and protection network that does not exclude anyone and that pays attention to everyone. This commitment is not just an electoral program, but a concrete and achievable path, aimed at building a Civitavecchia that responds to the needs of every citizen, promoting a more equitable, supportive and inclusive community.”
