Agreements between institutions on gender prevention and discrimination

CAMPOBASSO – The President of the Molise Chamber of Commerce, Paolo Spina, and the President of the Committee
Female Entrepreneurship of Molise, Sandra Palombo, received in the Falcione Room of the headquarters
chamber of Piazza della Vittoria, in Campobasso, Colonel Luigi Dellegrazie, provincial commander of the
Carabinieri of Campobasso. The meeting, promoted by President Palombo, was cordial and fruitful and has
also seen the participation of Giuditta Lembo, Equality Councilor of the Province of Campobasso and of
Province of Isernia and Regional Coordinator of the States General of women.

During the meeting, a strong desire emerged to open up to inter-institutional collaboration on
numerous topics of common interest and expertise. The starting point will be the subscription of the specific one
agreement for the joint implementation of activities which will have the objective, on the one hand, of promoting the
awareness, in women of all ages and in workers, aimed at preventing discrimination
and gender violence, on the other to raise awareness of the possible support and help channels that can be activated if so
became recipients of incorrect behavior (so-called “spy”) or actual victims.

Topics of fundamental importance for the chamber of commerce system, committed to promotion at the level
entrepreneurial, of the Certification of gender equality.
The objective is to accompany and incentivize companies to adopt adequate policies to reduce the gap
gender and, in line with the provisions of the National Strategy for Gender Equality, contribute to
achieve a 5-point increase in the Gender Equality Index ranking by 2026
developed by the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) which currently sees Italy in 13th place
place in the ranking of EU countries.
The certification, to be achieved according to the reference practice UNI/PdR 125:2022 through the bodies
accredited evaluation programmes, includes six strategic areas of evaluation (culture and strategy; governance;
human resources (HR) management processes; opportunities for growth and inclusion of women in the company;
remuneration equity by gender; protection of parenthood and work-life balance) and is formally
excluded for those businesses that commit violations of the legislation on the protection of
parenting or who present discriminatory behaviour, directly or indirectly, in the various aspects of the activity
working.

It is therefore clear that the company’s achievement of this certification can act as a driving force for rights and
company productivity if supported by a starting base that focuses on the diffusion of true
culture of gender equality, which includes the fight against every form of discrimination but also the repression of
every form of violence.
This is the meaning of the meeting and the importance of dialogue between institutions, in order to provide what is necessary
support, including psychological, to women, raise awareness and train the women themselves, as well as all the actors
of the world of work (including businesses – employers and colleagues).
Starting from these behaviors, the valorization and development of women in the world can be promoted
world of work and business, qualifying their presence and achieving true and concrete equality
gender, in society and in the world of work and entrepreneurship.
