“The staff has been ready since the end of June, we made a commitment and we kept it”: here is the comment from the federal president, Gabriele Gravina, on the ratification in record time of registrations for the 2024/2025 professional championships by the federal council. Ancona did not obtain the license for the Serie C tournament and leaves an empty space, which will be filled by AC Milan Under 23. The criterion for the repechage has been approved which envisages a second team from the Serie A championship in first place. The entry of the second Rossoneri team will be defined in the next federal council, scheduled for 27 June. Immediately afterwards, with a defined staff, the Lega Pro will be able to draw up the list of participants in the three groups (draw for Juventus, Atalanta and Milan with a second team in each group).

“There is great satisfaction for having secured the system. – added Gravina – It will be the first summer without appeals for admission to the championships. Never in the history of Italian football had the championships at the beginning of June been fully staffed with the exception of of the void left by Ancona, which will be filled by June 27th. The fact of having no appeals reassures us and makes us proud of the great commitment made. If there were to be another second team (Milan Under 23, ed.), it would be a further source of pride and a sign of quality also for the Lega Pro championship. We would go from one to three second teams in the space of two years.”
