LECCE – The Ministry’s data no longer leaves room for doubt: Adriana Poli Bortone received more votes, but did not reach the goal of victory in the first round due to a handful of preferences. The decision to have the ballots recounted is postponed until after the runoff. We continue to discuss the lame duck hypothesis, i.e. ungovernability in the event of Salvemini’s victory (because the centre-right lists exceeded 50% of the votes), is it a real hypothesis or will jurisprudence replace the “holes” left by the legislator? The judges gave an interpretation to the Consolidated Law (ruling of the Council of State of 2010, which recalls the TU local authorities) in which the votes of the lists must be counted together with those of the mayoral candidate (with the result that all of them would have the possibility of obtaining the majority prize in case of victory in the second round).
