The man is already known to the police offices as he was held responsible, over the last month, for multiple crimes of serious social alarm, including thefts and fires of cars.
The policemen of the Gela Public Safety Police have arrested a convicted felon from Gela in flagrante delicto of attempted theft and personal injury. Last 8 June, as part of targeted services aimed at the prevention and repression of crimes, near Viale Indipendenza, the crew of a State Police car noticed two male subjects, intent on blocking another, in near an open garage with the internal light on. The officers stopped the three men, breaking up the fight between the contenders and proceeding to identify them. From the immediate reconstruction of what happened it emerged that the criminal had gone to the garage owned by one of the other two men and, after having forced the door with a crowbar, had entered it, turning the premises upside down, probably looking for a possible loot. The arrested man, upon seeing the owner of the garage and his friend, attacked them with the crowbar, in a vain attempt to escape; a fight ensued during which the parties caused mutual injuries; the criminal was blocked by the two men shortly before the personnel of the Flying Squad of the Public Safety Police arrived on site. Once the formalities were completed, the arrested person was taken to prison at the disposal of the AG. The Judge for Preliminary Investigations, at the Court of Gela, validated the arrest and ordered the precautionary measure of house arrest with application of the electronic bracelet .
