An information gazebo to promote the project of the Vigilant Grandparents of the Municipality of Foggia among the citizens of Foggia: this is what will happen tomorrow, Saturday 15 June, in the pedestrian area, near the porticoes of Via Lanza. The initiative was organized by the Local Police Corps which intends to relaunch the volunteering activity for the 2024-205 school year.
The activity takes the form of a monitoring and surveillance service during the entry and exit of children from the city’s primary schools. Among the requirements for vigilant grandparents: residence or domicile in the Municipality of Foggia; the entitlement to a pension, the psychophysical suitability for the requested service, to be documented with a medical certification issued by the general practitioner, the enjoyment of civil and political rights and the absence of criminal convictions and ongoing criminal proceedings. The people admitted to the project will participate in a short information and training course at the local police headquarters.
In the Gazebo, alongside representatives of the local police, some of the volunteers who served in the school year that has just ended. Furthermore, from 10.00 to 12.00 at the Gazebo, in collaboration with the education department, some students will be present representing the institutions that have used the service and to whom gadgets made available to the councilor will be donated.
