The workers of the special company Aprilia Multiservizi are protesting against the privatization of the cleaning service for municipal buildings. An outsourcing without protections in the opinion of the trade union organizations (Fp Cgil, Fp Cisl and Uil Fpl), who for this reason have proclaimed an assembly for Tuesday 18 June in the council chamber of the Municipality of Aprilia (or alternatively in Piazza Roma) paid by Asam employees.

The decision was taken at the end of last Tuesday’s meeting, in which we started talking about the project of the Municipality of Aprilia (which entirely controls Multiservizi) to sell the cleaning service currently managed by Asam to third parties, and then in a second phase also address the issue relating to the management of paid parking which was not addressed in this first discussion. During the meeting which saw the presence of the Public Works Department, the Board of Liquidators of Multiservizi and the trade unions, the Principi municipal administration illustrated its plan which envisages privatization by the month of September. What triggered the tension beyond the alert level was the failure to include the “social clause” in the agreement, i.e. the clause which in the event of a change of contract obliges the successor to reabsorb the staff employed by the outgoing contractor. A lack of inclusion which made the workers concerned, already worried about the prospect of privatisation, even more agitated. Without a social clause, in fact, the only alternative for employees with permanent contracts would be to be re-employed in Multiservizi, which however at present does not have the possibility of relocating them either from an organizational or economic point of view given that the annual fee has been reduced.

In this context the risk of redundancies is very real, therefore CGIL, CISL and UIL have proclaimed the meeting for 18 June, to inform the staff of the situation but above all to put pressure on the Municipality of Aprilia to introduce the social clause in the agreement.
