A sea sweeper to clean the waters of the Vesuvian municipalities

A sea sweeper to clean the waters in front of the coast of the municipalities of the Golden Mile.

It is the one that will be launched on Saturday 15 June in Portici, in what promises to be a morning totally dedicated to the protection of the sea, during which the relevant institutions will also talk about the fundamental principles of the blue economy.

We will start at 10 am at the Anton Dohrn zoological station, where the workshop entitled “Recovery and conservation of sea-coast heritage: the Pelikan system and the coastal operation” is scheduled.

This will be followed, at 12pm, by the launch of the Pelikan class anti-pollution vessel, which will be renamed the “Golden Mile” and will be financed – as part of the local development strategy of the “Golden Mile Coast” Flag – at restoration of biodiversity in aquatic environments.

From what we learn, it is a real “floating laboratory”, created by Garbage Group, equipped with full electric propulsion, which will carry out its mission of cleaning, depolluting and monitoring the stretches of water on the coast in a 360 degree sustainability perspective, also producing zero emissions.

The presence of the three interested mayors Vincenzo Cuomo (Portici), Luigi Mennella (Torre del Greco) and Ciro Buonajuto (Ercolano) is announced at the workshop; Pasquale Ciotta, commander of the Portici Captaincy; Ida Montanaro, commander of the Torre del Greco Captaincy; Nicola Caputo, Councilor for Agriculture of the Campania Region; Antonella Cammarano, Flag regional representative; Maurizio Minichino, president of the Golden Mile Coast Flag; Luca Tortora; director Flag Coast Golden Mile; Paolo Baldoni, CEO of Garbage Group.
