Giancarlo Puggioni, born in 1974, coming from the healthcare working environment (from nurse at San Bartolo to general secretary of the FP Cgil Vicenza) is the new general secretary of the CGIL of Vicenza.
The nomination came during the union meeting in via Vaccari.
For reasons of the Statute, Giampaolo Zanni has completed his 8 years in office (2 terms). The Vicenza CGIL democratically therefore opted to elect Giancarlo Puggioni. This is a choice of continuity: Puggioni was already in the general secretariat with the organizational role.
The new secretary declared that the CGIL of Vicenza now needs to find itself within a shared path and has committed to putting together a strong secretariat.
Among the immediate priorities of the provincial union is the collection of signatures to contribute to the referendums against the precariousness of employment contracts, for protection against dismissals and for safety at work also in the procurement system. The national objective of collecting signatures, as confirmed by the general secretary Landini, is to reach one million. In recent days, the 500 thousand signatures needed to present the 4 questions to the Court of Cassation have already been exceeded.
Present at the elective assembly were the general secretary Maurizio Landini and the general secretary of Veneto Tiziana Basso as well as all the representatives of the Vicenza categories and the delegates of the members.
