Ragusa – There has not been a quorum for the Freedom South Calls North list with which Cateno De Luca, as mayor of Taormina, thought he would make his debut in the European field or at least gain national attention. However, there is no shortage of ideas provided by the local results to which the provincial coordinator Paolo Monaca appeals to find reasons for optimism. Here’s what he says. “With 5.7% of the preferences, the province of Ragusa is in fourth place in Sicily as regards the overall appreciation of the voters of the Freedom-South calls North list”. Then Paolo Monaca reels off some data: “In the Messina area, the Deluchian stronghold, it reached 21.7%.

In the Hyblaean area we stand at the aforementioned encouraging figure, preceded by Trapani with 11% and by Syracuse with 6.7% where, however, some candidates were present and therefore the driving force was completely different compared to what it could have been our. In any case, we can consider ourselves partially satisfied with the results obtained, with some points of excellence which, as in the case of Ispica (Monaca is a municipal councilor – editor’s note) give us hope. An even more significant result if we consider that we were overshadowed by the media and that we were not able to make the most of all the spaces for electoral propaganda, unlike what happened with the traditional parties. Apart from Ispica, which also deserved the mention of Ismaele La Vardera, who cited the figure achieved in this reality, i.e. 22.33%, with Cateno De Luca even being the most voted, surpassing names like that of the Meloni, Schlein and Tamajo, I think the Comiso figure is appreciable (6.56%) thanks to the presence of the deputy provincial coordinator Giovanni Landro and that of Chiaramonte (6.45%) which provided interesting feedback. And then again Pozzallo, Ragusa and Giarratana with Vittoria in tow.

And immediately after Monterosso, Modica, Scicli, Santa Croce and finally Acate. We feel satisfied with what happened in the province because we achieved fourth place at a regional level which says a lot about our potential. I thank the city coordinators and our councilors and municipal councilors for their efforts. The provincial coordination also thanks the activists and all those who made sure this result was achieved. There were, objectively, some chiaroscuro: as regards the positive aspects, we will continue along the direction rewarded by the voters with their free vote. However, as regards the other critical aspects, they will be the subject of an in-depth analysis by the party at regional and provincial level to understand what to modify, what to change, what corrective actions to take with respect to the current political-administrative management. The hope is to improve future performances.” (dice.)
