This morning, Thursday 13 June, Army Corps General Riccardo Galletta, Commander of the Interregional Carabinieri Command “Pastrengo” since last May 5th, visited the Provincial Command of Cuneo to convey his greetings to the Carabinieri della Granda.
To date, in his 44-year career, General Galletta has held numerous prestigious positions at home and abroad. At the beginning of his career he was a platoon commander at the Carabinieri Cadet School in Rome and at the Military Academy of Modena. In Belgium he commanded the SHAPE Carabinieri Support Unit at the NATO base. In the territorial organization of the Army he held the positions of Commander of the Gaeta and Rome Casilina Companies, of the Palermo Group, of the Provincial Command of Brescia, of the Sicilian Legion in Palermo and of the “Culqualber” Interregional Command in Messina. Within the General Command of the Carabinieri, he was aide-de-camp to the Deputy General Commander, in charge of the Legislation Office, Head of the Operations Room, Head of the Ceremonial Office, Head of the Organized Crime Office, Head of the Office of the Chief of Staff, Head of the Office of the Deputy General Commander, Head of the III Department. He then commanded the Carabinieri Officers School in Rome, the Specialized Units Division and the top command of the “Palidoro” Mobile and Specialized Unit in Rome. Before taking on his current role he was Deputy General Commander of the Carabinieri until June 1st.
Today, the General was welcomed at the Gonzaga Barracks in Corso Soleri by the Provincial Commander, Col. Giuseppe Carubia, by all the officers of the province and by a representation of the non-commissioned officers and Carabinieri operating in the Granda, as well as by some members of the Section of ‘National Carabinieri Association of Caraglio. General Galletta greeted the staff to whom he expressed his appreciation for the activity carried out in the communities of the area, focusing in particular on the ethical values that must guide the daily action of the Carabiniere in support of the citizen.
After a brief briefing on the activities carried out by the Army in the province, the General met the main civil and religious authorities of the capital.
