will open in place of the Bennet of Campogrande

The supermarket will close but only to reopen in a few months: in the meantime, all the approximately 60 jobs currently still in existence should be saved. The news, revealed by Brescia newspaperconcerns the future of the Bennet-branded store today in the commercial area of Campogrande in Brescia (Via Genova): the Bennet-branded store will close permanently starting from Saturday 15 June, but as mentioned it will reopen its doors in a few months (after renovations and restyling) with a new Rossetto brand store.

The reorganization and the new store

Founded in 1965 and today active in Italy with 2,200 collaborators, 25 sales points (5 in the Brescia area) and a turnover of around 600 million euros, the Rossetto Group would thus have concluded the purchase of the business unit relating to Bennet di Campogrande, as already done a few months ago regarding the Bennet of Concesio. In fact it is the long “tail” of the vast reorganization of the Auchan group, with numerous sales also in the Brescia area, both to Conad and to Bennet, which however is now restructuring its commercial position (in addition to the Concesio store, the Bennet was also closed of Molinetto di Mazzano, now IperTosano).

While waiting for the reopening, the 60 employees of the Campogrande supermarket will be temporarily transferred to other stores. The use of social safety nets is not envisaged, at least for now. The agreement to safeguard jobs was reached at the end of a long negotiation which involved the unions and the companies involved in the sale.
