Biotecnopolo Siena, Bezzini: “The crumbs remain to finance some private projects”

The dispute continues between the Democratic Party and the Brothers of Italy in Siena over the Biotechnopole issue. Despite the publication of the long-awaited statute in the Official Gazette, there remains strong doubt among the Democrats about the future of the important project. The Honorable Michelotti (Fdi) responded to the attacks of the PD deputies, reassuring them of the functionality of the structure and now it is the regional health councilor Simone Bezzini who has his say.

“What we unfortunately feared is happening at the Biotechnopole and the National Anti-Pandemic Center – he states – after the cut implemented with Legislative Decree 19, the foundations are being laid for a further defunding of the project by the Government.”

“In summary – he highlights – the National Anti-Pandemic Center, intended as a public agency for the country’s health security, will not see the light. The crumbs will remain and will be used to finance some private project. All to save face. Michelotti’s words confirm this.”

“I say this with great bitterness because, beyond political affiliations, I would have expected this strategic project for the country and the territory to be carried out in the name of the general interest. Siena, Tuscany and Italy are missing a great opportunity.”
