The historic food and wine event “Spino fioreto – The small great Italies of the glass” returns for its eleventh edition, starting from tomorrow to Monday. This year, pending the completion of the renovation of the Malaspina Castle, the event will invade Piazza Aranci from 6pm to midnight. From the new race for the transparency of food products in Europe to the small, sometimes very small, DOC wines in the glass, an expression of the extraordinary variety of the territory. Coldiretti Massa Carrara brings to Piazza Aranci the “weight” of local viticulture together with the challenges that the main organization is leading in Italy and above all in Europe with mobilizations and proposals to protect the income of agricultural businesses and the health of consumers.

“We are happy to have contributed to the return of Spino fioreto by involving 24 local wine companies, encouraging and supporting their participation which is fundamental for its success – explains Francesca Ferrari, president of Coldiretti Massa Carrara – The theme of transparency and traceability recurs even in this context where the link between companies, territory and products is in front of us. This is why we want to re-involve consumer citizens. After the law against synthetic food that we obtained thanks to their support, the new objective is the extension of origin labeling for all foods on sale in Europe and the abolition of the customs code which allows a product to deserve citizenship with a minimum passage in our country. We believe it is right and correct and we will ask Spino Fiorito to support it our petition'”. Which can be signed in the institutional gazebo of Coldiretti, in Piazza Aranci.

“Spino fioreto” will offer visitors a unique experience, with the participation of 40 agricultural producers from Massa, the Province and beyond. The streets of Massa will become a lively open-air market where it will be possible to taste quality wines such as Doc Candia dei Colli di Apuani, Doc di Luni, IGT Val di Magra and Toscano, as well as organic and typical local products. The organization of the event sees the involvement of numerous local entities: Tuscany Wine Road Federation, Coldiretti, Candia dei Colli Apuani Consortium, Chefs Association and Ducato di Massa Association, with the financial support of the Region and Chamber of Commerce.
