The 1000 Miglia in San Lazzaro and Bologna, how traffic changes

The pomp returns 1000 Miglia (11-15 June) which will stop in San Lazzaro di Savena on 14 Junean area that gave birth to Giuliano Canè and his wife Lucia Galliani, winners of 10 editions of the super race.

This is the end of the fourth stage. Stage number 5 involves the departure of the first car from Bologna Fiera on the morning of June 15th.

The route and the parade

The cars will pass through:

– the Gessi Bolognesi Park and the Calanchi dell’Abbadessa

– then along the Val di Zena, therefore the Farneto and the Pulce and will reach Piazza Luciano Bracci, where there will be a dedicated installation, (around 9.00 pm)

– the parade along via Woolf, via Kennedy, via Marzabotto, via Jussi, via Repubblica, via San Lazzaro, to then take via Emilia towards Bologna from where the next day they will leave for the 5th and final stage arriving in Brescia.

The parade of historic cars will be preceded, around 8.00 pm, by the prancing horse cars of the Ferrari Tribute 1000 Miglia and the innovative electric cars of the 1000 Miglia Green.

From 7.00pm entertainment activities in Piazza Bracci.

Changes to traffic from 6pm to 10.30pm

– Ban on transit and parking, with forced removal, throughout Piazza Bracci, with the exception of emergency vehicles, emergency vehicles and vehicles relating to the event
.- Closure to transit of the limited traffic area in front of the town hall in Piazza Bracci;
– In the stretch of via S. Lazzaro between via Della Repubblica and Piazza Bracci/intersection with via Roma:
• closure to traffic with the establishment of a transit ban from approximately 7.00 pm to 10.30 pm in the section between via S. Lazzaro between via Della Repubblica and Piazza Bracci/intersection with via Roma, with the exception of emergency vehicles , emergency services and vehicles relating to the “42nd Historical Reenactment 1000 Miglia 2024” event;
• temporary establishment of one-way traffic heading north (via Emilia) in the section between via S. Lazzaro indicated above to allow only the authorized vehicles indicated above to transit and reach Piazza Bracci from via Della Repubblica;
• parking ban, with forced removal at the expense of the owners on both sides of via S. Lazzaro.

In the stretch of via Roma between the intersection with via Milano and the intersection with via S. Lazzaro:
• closure to transit of via Roma at the intersection with via S. Lazzaro;
• ban on transit in the stretch of via Roma between the intersection with via Milano and the intersection with via S. Lazzaro from approximately 7.00 pm to 10.30 pm with the exception of residents and those accessing private properties on via Roma , taxis, vehicles serving disabled people with limited or impaired motor capacity;
• two-way traffic in the stretch of via Roma between the intersection with via Milano and the intersection with via S. Lazzaro.
• vehicle parking reserved for taxis on the south side of via Roma;
• parking area reserved for vehicles serving disabled people with limited or impaired mobility.

– Prohibition of transit and parking, with forced removal at the expense of the owners in the sections of road indicated below and within the areas limited by appropriate signs, from approximately 6.00 pm to 10.30 pm, on the entire parking area located in via JF Kennedy and overlooking the municipal swimming pool. Emergency vehicles, emergency vehicles and vehicles relating to the “42nd Historical Reenactment 1000 Miglia 2024” event are excluded from the above requirements.

The 2024 stages

After starting from Brescia on the afternoon of Tuesday 11 June and crossing Bergamo, Novara and Vercelli, the first stage ended in Turin. On the second day, the cars headed south, crossing the top of the Langhe and crossing the center of Alba before heading towards Genoa, the 2024 European Capital of Sport and home to the first race lunch. After the break, the race left the Riviera di Levante behind and headed towards the Tyrrhenian coast, arriving in Viareggio, home to the arrival of the second day of the race.
Third stage, the descent towards Rome, with a detour into the Tuscan hinterland, passing through Lucca, then returning to the coast in Livorno and continuing until the lunch break in Castiglione della Pescaia. In the afternoon the passage from Grosseto, the entry into Lazio and the descent along Lake Bolsena before concluding the day with the parade in via Veneto.
On the fourth day the crews will go up to Orvieto before stopping for lunch in Solomeo, from where they will set off again towards Siena and Prato. Before reaching the final stage in San Lazzaro, pilots and navigators will cross the Futa and Raticosa passes.

From Bologna, the last stage will meet Ferrara and Mantua, and again Lake Garda with Valtenesi and
